Entorno Natural:

Morrazo Peninsula is a large granite block separating the Rias of Pontevedra and Vigo. From the hill-tops, the sides slope steeply towards the southern shore of the Ria de Pontevedra, characterised by a series of beaches and cliffs.

The area of the Rias Baixas is characterised by the wealth and diversity of its prehistoric sites, and among these the open-air rock engravings are the most important and emblematic archaeological evidence.

Descripción general del destino:

The engravings are on three outcrops. The first of these is large and has numerous motifs, including concentric circles, inter-connected lines, a possible maze and a single animal. The second smaller outcrop has a very beautiful maze with a central cup-mark, accompanied by small combinations of concentric circles. The third rock has a further maze which is in a poorer state of conservation.

Descripción de los recursos museográficos:

The archaeological centre is a small but impressive explanatory space that helps us learn about the petroglyphs of Mogor, how they were realised, identify the most represented motifs and delve deeply into their meaning. At its side, we have a board that connects to the internet by unloading a QR code and acts as a guide, explaining the surroundings in case the centre is not open.
