The site became known in 1917, when the first prehistoric rock art was discovered by J. J. Senent. The paintings were then studied by Eduardo Hernández Pacheco. At that time four shelters were known: Galería Alta de la Masía, Galería del Roure, Covacha del Barranquet and La Viña. In the 1970s and 80s, two new sites were found: Coveta de la Cornisa and Galería de la Partició. These were studied by Viñas and Sarriá.
