On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the declaration of “Rock Drawings in Valcamonica”  as UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/94/ - http://www.vallecamonicaunesco.it/?lang=en and thanks to the warm invitation of the CENTRO CAMUNO DI STUDI PREISTORICI (CCSP https://www.ccsp.it/web/homebox.html ) and its director PhD. Tiziana Cittadini,  the place that will host our Annual Forum will be the village of CAPO DI PONTE (where the CCSP’s headquarters is located) , next dates 25th and 26th October 2019 (Friday and Saturday). Optionally, Sunday 27th you have the opportunity to attend to a special visit.

The Annual Forum 2019 of Prehistoric Rock Art Trails is included in the events of the XXVII Valcamonica Symposium 2019 that in this edition celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the inclusion of the great Rock Art of Valcamonica in the UNESCO World Heritage List https://www.ccsp.it/web/homebox.html

9:00 - 11.30 Session 2: Updates on rock art in Valcamonica: state of research, thematic deepenings and the currently studied areas

Presentation of the latest studies in Rock Art Natural Reserve of Ceto, Cimbergo and Paspardo (Foppe di Nadro and Paspardo), the project “Four hills” (Dos dell’Arca – Capo di Ponte), Luine and other minor rupestrian areas

11:30 - 16:00 Analysis on Valcamonica rock art’s themes and iconography

16:30 - 18:30 Workshop: Towards a shared chronology of rock art in Valcamonica


October 27th 2019 (Sunday) OPTIONAL ACTIVITY (BOOKING IS REQUIRED !!!)
